It’s all about the lake. The magical, seductive, lake.

The towns have their own appeal, to be sure. At least, that’s what others have said, although we didn’t quite find it ourselves. Panajachel is essentially one long road full of restaurants and peddlers of the usual souvenirs. San Pedro had a cool, relaxed vibe, but almost a little too so for our liking.

I am sure there are other reasons to enjoy this area. But for us, it was all about the lake, and views of the dormant volcanoes nestled up to it.

  1. Gorgeous, gorgeous photos. I’m not really into South America all that much but this is just WOW – fantastic job on capturing the area!

    1. Thanks Sarah! The waters were pretty rough so it was tough to take photos, but we got a few! Guatemala has been a really incredible experience for us, we’ve got lots to say about it. 🙂

    1. Glad you liked them Hannah. We are such *water* people, any place we can visit that allows for kayaks quickly rises up on our charts. 🙂

    1. We haven’t traveled too far in Central America yet, but this country really left an impact on us compared to some of the others. You do really need to go back! 🙂
