What to Wear on Your Trip to Cuba

Going on holiday to Cuba is an incredible and unforgettable experience. The sunshine and the atmosphere are welcoming and the local food will tantalize your tastebuds. As with any trip to a Caribbean location, one of the most important thing to remember is to dress appropriately. Cuba features a sub-tropical climate, so you can expect it to likely be much warmer than what you may be used to.

What Men Should Wear

Light and breezy clothing is a must. Consider a lightly-coloured button down polo over a lightweight cotton t-shirt on top, paired with chino shorts and of course, a good pair of sunglasses. This outfit will be both comfortable and stylish, and you can wear it pretty much anywhere in the country. With that being said, the temperature in Cuba does get cool at night – and sometimes during the day- thanks to tradewinds blowing in from the ocean. Be sure to bring a few pairs of trousers and a windbreaker for the evenings.

What Women Should Wear

Lightweight and lightly-coloured fabrics are key. Most of your outfits can be casual, but you should also bring something a little more formal, like a simple dress, for dinner. When it comes to shoes, leave your heels behind. Most of the walkways in Cuba are rough and uneven, so you want to wear something flat and comfortable. If you are bringing your best CrossFit shoes to exercise while on the trip, they could do double-duty as your exploring shoes as well.

Enjoy your Trip!

Only pack what you need and follow these wardrobe guidelines to ensure that you get the best out of your holiday. Remember to leave any expensive jewellery or other valuables at home, it’s not worth the risk of losing them or having them stolen. With that being said, you will definitely enjoy this fascinating country, especially if you are dressed properly for the weather. So now that you know what to wear and what else to bring with you on your trip to Cuba, all you have left to do is hop on the plane and get started with your holiday!
