Review: Apartments Arena Pula, Croatia

Location, location, location.  Arena Apartment in Pula can’t be beat for this number one rule that applies to good accommodations.

The stunning view of the amphitheater from the terrace

From the bus or train it is a mere 500 metre walk, but the real bonus is that it is right next to Pula’s best tourist attraction – the massive amphitheater that can be seen in full view from the patio. It is also close to the city center, cafes, restaurants and laundry.

We particularly enjoyed how quiet and secure the building was.  The apartment’s kitchen was well equipped, the bed and all furniture were adequately comfortable.

There were, however, a few things that could be improved on:

1. Having an Internet connection available in the building would be a plus. While there are nearby cafe’s that have it, we always will prefer accommodations that provide it free of charge.

2. There were a couple of areas where more attention to cleanliness is necessary: we had to unclog a shower drain and the area beneath the sink in the kitchen smelled musty.

3. In the winter months it can can get quite cold in the apartment, the space heater and extra blanket did help, but there could have been more.

Overall, for 39 Euros a night (during this slower season), it was decent value despite our critiques and given the excellent location.

** Our 2 night stay at Apartments Arena in Pula, Croatia was complimentary, but as always, all opinions we express are our own.
